The update is divided into 4 key sections:
- Improving Student Achievement for Students with Special Education Needs – This section provides updates on all f the current special education initiatives for exceptional students, including those for students who are Deaf ad hard of Hearing, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Physical, Intellectual or Behaviour needs, as well as mental health services and supports and the provincial Special Needs strategy.
- Funding for Special Education -an overview of how special education programs and services are funded and any recent changes to the funding formulas or grants
- Advice on Special education – Brief report on the most recent meeting of the Minister’s Advisory Council on Special education
- Updates from other Ministries – An update from the Ministries of Children and Youth, Community and Social Services, Health and Long Term Care and Training, Colleges and Universities that may impact students with special educational needs.
